Shortly after the conflicting events of volume 2, Onyx offers a recount of whom he was and how he came to be. From being born onto Jamaican parents in Japan, his father being a highly skilled warrior, and his mother being a caretaker to the royal concubine, Onyx, had an unfavorable fate sealed. An tyrannical emporer ordered the unfair and untimely demise of his parents right before him.
